Pilot Rural Heritage Restoration Projects in order to test the EHPS and Various Approaches to Restoration

3.1 PLAN AND ORGANISE FOR RESTORING RURAL HERITAGE:
This Action provides the foundations for partners to develop & share their plans to implement a series of pilot restoration projects with different client groups. Partners will undertake preparations, commission & publish rural heritage restoration strategies, procure the services of any required contractors & identify & organise clients, trainers & agree sites & the necessary site & safety risk assessments.
3.2 IMPLEMENT RURAL HERITAGE PILOT RESTORATION PROJECTS:
This Action puts into operation the strategies & detailed pilot plans of 5 participating partners. These comprise practical works to restore, refurbish, conserve, & or document specific rural heritage assets including 2 former rural work houses or ‘Colonies’ in Flanders, a 1930’s castle in UK, & former estate houses & grounds in Gelderland in the Netherlands & a heritage feature in Merthyr Tydfil that will be identified from the list of assets developed in the previous action. Partners will use these restoration projects to test the European Heritage Skills Passport Scheme, involve different client groups including, visitors, volunteers, youth, young offenders, prisoners, artisans, professionals & cultural & heritage organisations.
3.3 EVALUATE RURAL HERITAGE PILOT RESTORATION PROJECTS:
This Action ensures that all partners set out baselines, continually assess progress and adjust as necessary & share on-going results of their pilot projects through the discipline of completing templates, analysing these, reporting & sharing progress and completing case studies, all of which will be make widely available using the social media & project web site
